The rail tractor was built in Stratford, NZ, based on a Ferguson farm tractor. It has a six cylinder Perkins diesel engine. It was gifted to the club by Ballance Fertilizer Ltd. in Whangarei. It is the maintenance workhorse and usually pulls the flat goods wagon.
